Simon, I can't disagree with your assessment and yet I'm a big Twitter lover. Why? Well since I don't disagree with your assertions or your opinion in most every sense, I do use Twitter in connection with HootSuite and the Facebook Twitter App to auto update my Facebook status?

What I can do it set up HootSuite to publish Tweets by scheduled timer and those Tweets are sent to FB as a status update. There are plenty of reasons to do this but for me the biggest use case is that I don't want to update twice in a short time or the first of the two updates gets lost.

Great comments Simon. I completely agree and think we need to find ways to be smart about using social media in our marketing practices. The days of marketeers just sending information out and hiding behind those communications are gone. Now we actually have to interact with our audiences and its all for the better. I'm glad to see governments and other industries also getting on the bandwagon. This is the way of the future for sure!

Hi there! I work with Elizabeth and she told me you were doing The Relay. I was there as well and am curious, which runner were you? I was #9. I got lucky with some fairly easy legs. Great fun but I could have done without the rain! I hope you had a successful race.
