Webinar Series Launch
It has been fun to sit back and watch Ola, our Marketing Manager, help us pick up industry steam lately. She is following up the great Internet Retailer IRCE 2007 Show we had earlier this month with a webinar series that launches today. WhatCounts will be lining up subject matter experts to present topics each month to our customers and friends. The agenda for the next few webinars is posted on a microsite devoted to the cause: WhatCountsEvents.com.
Today’s webinar, "Designing for the New Email Landscape," will focus on many of the email design changes that marketers must make to keep up with new clients like Yahoo Beta, AOL/AIM's newest update and Outlook 2007. The presentation will also cover many timeless best practices which designers need to employ. We're very happy to have Justin Foster of WhatCounts, Michelle Eichner of Pivotal Veracity, and Lisa Harmon and Aaron Smith of Smith-Harmon joining us for this kickoff event!
For fun, our email campaign about the event had an intentional design flaw in it. We challenged email marketers to find the mistake (and encouraged them to attend the webinar if they couldn't). For those of you who have been on the edge of your seat, it's a commonly-committed error: Outlook 2007 makes background images that are nested in table cells invisible (to learn more, register for the webinar and/or read the comprehensive Pivotal Veracity report on Outlook 2007). In the two screen shots below, the top example is the intended design of the email and the bottom example shows how it actually renders in Outlook 2007.
So, if you have some time today at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT, you can still register to attend. If not, we'll make the recording available for playback shortly. We're looking forward to your input on desired webinar topics as we continue to improve this new resource for email marketers!
